You should now that several blogs have raised a skeptical eye towards Washington's contentions in the case as well as his motivations. Of course, you could also be skeptical of the folks being skeptical of him.

I think that you raise really important points about the initial crime with the nooses being treated more harshly as well as the crimes involving guns in this case.

I don't know if you are from the South, but I just hope that you realize that race is a powerful force here. And, it really does seem from looking at the charges in this case that there has been bias in the prosecution. Perhaps the prosecution has realized this as they have lowered charges in several of the cases at this point.

I agree with being skeptical, but there is a fine line between being skeptical and in getting folks fired up in the opposite direction by race baiting them into thinking that this is not injustice but just a bunch of "liberal" folks playing the "race card."Kevinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08036954861088253748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7238093301727076160.post-72743576598218816002007-09-10T19:59:00.000-04:002007-09-10T19:59:00.000-04:00Skeptic. You seem to suffer from the "confirmation...Skeptic. You seem to suffer from the "confirmation bias" of an angry white man who refuses to admit that racism is real in this country. You are being skeptical before you know the facts. It is marvelous to want to discover the "truth" but do not throw out mere skepticism not backed with fact and then fail to actually try to discover the truth for yourself. In doing this, you are just shouting out another opinion not based on any information.

If you truly believe that folks are jumping the gun and crying foul when they shouldn't, do some digging, do some investigating, and lay it out for us.

It is a sad but true fact that racism is quite real in America. And, anyone who thinks that race is not a powerful issue in America is very much deluding themselves.

Those are just my thoughts. I am not going to debate your take on the facts of the case with you. But, if you bring to light additional evidence which would suggest that there is not racial bias in the charges against these individuals, please do bring it forward. It would be important for everyone involved.Kevinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08036954861088253748noreply@blogger.com
